This 1500V solution launched in early 2017 is ideal for system integrators and end users who require high-performance solar inverters for large photovoltaic plants and are interested in reducing installation time and the overall complexity of the plant to enhance power production and performance. The electrical system configuration utilizes outdoor inverters and a cabin on a skid containing the MV and LV electrical service of the PV system to interface with the external connection. The solution is compliant with IEC standards and UL certified.

Innovative technology

The PCS in based on the state-of-the-art inverter GS1500, designed for direct outdoor installation (IP54 and NEMA 3R) with an innovative cooling system which significantly reduces system losses offering one of the highest efficiencies on the market today. Indoor solutions and/or water cooling are also available upon request.

Nidec Conversion has more than forty years of experience in power conversion solutions with significant experience in Power Quality. This new line of 1000V PCS launched in early 2017 is based on Nidec’s significant experience in battery energy storage systems. Thanks to the sophisticated algorithms and open control platform, the PCS seamlessly integrates with any Battery Management System regardless of type or brand. It is compliant with IEC standards and has been UL certified. It is also ready for the next generation of batteries at 1500V.

Control System

Our advanced control system offers realtime control and includes functions for energy management as well as full power control. The system allows for local and remote access and contains a full set of diagnostics tools for predictive and preventive maintenance including historic data logger and performance reports.

This PCS solution is based on our own consolidated LV inverter technlogy for industrial applications. Compliant with IEC Standards, it has been successfully installed in multiple projects worldwide. The solution is based on a flexible modular design, suitable for either indoor or outdoor use.

Inverter Technology

The basic building block of our Power Conversion Systems is our ES690i smart inverter with Active Front End. Used widely in industrial automation, these drives are well known for their reliability and rapid response time. The inverters offer maximum efficiency of 98.5% with very low harmonics.
